Overview
in a nutshell
Jose Sousa Masonry, Inc wanted a new website with a photo gallery to show off their work to the world, and then provide them with contact information to generate new clients.
Skills
how I did it
xhtml, css, php, mySQL, graphics
Software
what I used to do it
Adobe Dreamweaver CS3, Adobe Fireworks CS3, phpMyAdmin
Design
aesthetic point of view
The design of this site is very simple and straightforward, as Jose Sousa requested. Easy to use and always displaying the most important information, it consists of mainly simple vectors, a clear photo, and a slight drop shadow edge.
Development
how it works
JACKED Manager was first installed on Jose Sousa Masonry as an actual content manager. The infoPages and photoGallery modules were developed for this site, in order to provide an easy way to edit content on static pages, and an easy to use photo gallery with categories to organize content.
Comments
my opinion
The simple design might seem like me taking the easy way out, but there were some challenges in creating this site. The pseudo-breadcrumb navigation trail at the bottom of each page is a direct result of apple.com adding a similar feature (except they have significantly more content and pages to trail over), mainly because I wanted to try one out.
