I ACTUALLY Changed Something Here

That's right, no lie, I did some work on THIS VERY SITE. It was the first time since about July that I've given my own site some much-needed attention, but I managed to finally create a portfolio page to show off stuff I've done. Primarily, this is a direct result of my application to the Computer Science/Multimedia Studies dual major. If I get in, this will be a formal education for what I want to do with the rest of my life, which just so happens to also be exactly what I've been doing with a good portion of my life so far, web design and development. Here at Northeastern University, We have these neato little dual major programs which allow you to get some specialization in more than one field. But more specifically, in the College of Computer and Information Science, it allows us to have a more specific major than just Computer or Information Science, like CS and Math or CS and Biology. In my case, the Multimedia program actually has a pretty detailed application process from a portfolio of our creative works to a 500 word statement of why we should get in, to even (and this is only for us CS majors) an interview with the people who will be deciding our fate in this program. The interview is necessary only for CS dual majors to "assess our creativity" and such. Basically what they're getting at is that most CS people aren't exactly artistic or good with aesthetics. A pretty valid point, but hopefully my portfolio will be proof enough to them that I know what I'm doing.

Anyway, right now I'm sort of in the middle of major projects in terms of learning new coding tactics, and I'm looking to lay off the PHP-heavy scripting for a while and start learning everything I can about Ajax and Client-side scripting. Maybe I can get Ajaxian's RSS feed aggregated directly in my brain. Also if anyone has any spectacular ideas for some Ajax-related project that I have no idea how to do that I could get myself into, please post a comment explaining just how I should start wasting my free time from now on.

Oh and as a side note, Streetlight Manifesto has a new CD.
Somewhere In The Between = awesome

If you don't have it yet, what the hell is your problem? You need this. It's that good.
